Is Spout just a dehumidifier?

Nope! Spout is nothing like a dehumidifier - maybe an excommunicated long-lost cousin at best.

To say we're like a dehumidifier is like saying a refrigerator IS an air conditioner. They may both contain similar parts, but they do radically different things.

Spout makes machines that create fresh drinking water from the air, with considerations of noise, taste, purity, footprint, aesthetics, and more. Dehumidifiers simply condense water out of the air and aren't meant for drinking. We would never recommend drinking the product of a dehumidifier; It needs very specific filtration to create safe water.
